“American Eagle gives another $1M to Pittsburgh Promise” As a part of Senior Signing Day 2019, American Eagle Outfitters celebrated with The Pittsburgh Promise and 800 Pittsburgh public high school seniors. During the celebration, American Eagle Outfitters pledged another $1 million dollars commitment to the Pittsburgh Promise. This happened alongside Promise students Peyton Klein and Imani Jai Chisolm being welcomed to the AExME Youth Council. This is not the first time American Eagle has supported The Promise to support Pittsburgh public students as they prepare for post-secondary education. In 2010, American Eagle made a $100,000 donation to the Pittsburgh Promise and facilitated an essay contest where the winners received a new laptop and a gift card to American Eagle so the winners could purchase a new wardrobe. “American Eagle Outfitters is incredibly proud to support The Promise and continue our investment in our Pittsburgh community,” said Jay Schottenstein, Executive Chairman of the Board and CEO of AEO, Inc. “We believe there is real power in the optimism of youth, and are committed to empowering our next generation of leaders with the education and opportunities that will allow them to build a better future for themselves and the world.”
