The Executive Scholars program builds a pipeline between high-performing Promise Scholars and Promise donors.

It provides Promise students with the chance to connect with the prestigious donor with whom they are matched to pursue professional relationships and connections during their college years. The shift from high school to college can be daunting, as can the shift from college to the workforce. The Executive Scholars program is one of the ways that The Promise can help Promise Scholars transition from not only high school to college, but from college to a career.

Opportunities

We hope to provide Executive Scholars with every advantage to lead to future success. Executive Scholars of The Pittsburgh Promise have access to excellent professional development opportunities and relationships that will enrich the college experience and provide guidance to beginning a career.

Opportunities include:

  • Matching with one distinguished company or individual who have provided extraordinary support to The Pittsburgh Promise
  • A feature in a series of billboards around the Pittsburgh region
  • Specialized professional development activities organized by The Promise and the Executive Companies
  • Invitations to exclusive events
  • Connections with companies that could potentially serve as a pipeline for internships and eventual employment

How to Become an Executive Scholar

Letters and applications will be sent from The Pittsburgh Promise office to the homes of high school seniors who demonstrate academic excellence during their senior year. Students with a strong academic performance, a commitment to community, and leadership skills are encouraged to apply.
