Billy Rutherford Coaching Manager, Milliones High School billy@pittsburghpromise.org Billy was born and raised in Pittsburgh and returned in 2019 after living in Boston for nine years. He graduated from Tufts University in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in history and Africana studies and earned a Master’s of Education from UMass Boston in 2016. While in Boston, Billy taught 8th-grade civics and coached basketball. He has also worked at schools and community organizations in Pittsburgh – teaching math, counseling students, running a basketball clinic, and organizing a tutoring program. Joining The Promise enables him to continue working directly with middle and high school students in his hometown.
