  • Sign the FERPA release form 
  • Review your eligibility status 
  • Add the schools you will, or have already, applied to

  • Students who cannot submit a FAFSA online due to missing essential information should contact info@pittsburghpromise.org.
  • Visit the FAFSA website.
  • Go to PHEAA’s site for workshops in your community.

Important Things to Remember

  • Letters are sent to all high school seniors at the beginning of their senior year detailing The Promise application process and providing a Promise Student Portal User ID and log in instructions.
  • Logging in to the portal is how you apply for the scholarship and find out your eligibility status.
  • Student log-in IDs are available from your guidance counselor and The Pittsburgh Promise office-412.281.7605.

  • Students must complete FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) each year while in post-secondary before Promise awards can be processed.
